The Bay of Fires has just been crowned Australia’s best beach for 2025. The region sits a 10 minute drive from our cabin, and we try and visit new spots every few days to discover gems.

This week a friend came to visit which gave us an excuse to explore Falmouth, Scamander, Binalong Bay and The Gardens as well as the Akaroa peninsula.

We also ventured further south to Freycinet to climb Mt Amos, enjoy the Hazards and peek at Wineglass Bay. The 2 day 3 night Freycinet Peninsula circuit will be a walk we try to do over the coming months- it looks like you’re on a tropical island out there!
